Juilliard at The Apollo: Filles de Kilimanjaro
Turn this into a plan you own and invite your friends.
With a career defined by constant reinvention, Miles Davis continuously shaped and reshaped the sound of jazz, moving from bebop to cool jazz, post-bop to fusion, and beyond. His time in New York City, a hub of jazz innovation and culture, started with Juilliard. To mark the iconic alum's 100th birthday, Juilliard Jazz and the Apollo Theater present a series of multidisciplinary performances on the legendary Harlem stage, honoring some of Davis' landmark albums: Birth of the Cool, Bitches Brew, and Kind of Blue. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Seating is general admission and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Join us before the performance for a preconcert lecture, moderated by author and Juilliard faculty member Fredara Hadley, in the Procope Theater at 6:30pm. Please arrive early, as late seating is not guaranteed. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of House Management. There is a limit of four tickets per household for this event. Citi® is the preferred card of The Apollo Stages at The Victoria.
