Trans-Pacific Productions' KAIDAN returns featuring new stories and performers after a sold-out run in August. Kaidan (怪談) are traditional Japanese stories of ghosts (yūrei) and supernatural beings (yokai), frightening yet melancholy stories of the unseen world that reflect the culture and history of Japan. New stories include Yuki Onna, Riki-Baka and Yanari, selected from Lafcadio Hearn's KWAIDAN, Hyaku Monogatari Kaidan and Kido Okamoto's Kaidan series, over 300 years old. Presented as a fusion of traditional Japanese storytelling with American physical theatre. Directed by Mimi Katano. Includes descriptions of violence, death and suicide. Recommended for ages 13 and up. Doors 7:00 PM for evening shows, 1:30 PM for matinee. Tickets required.
