Hands-On Firing: Raku and Foil Saggar

$150. Registration is open. Hands-on raku and foil saggar firing workshop with Jane White and Susan Salmaron. Combination of lecture, firings and discussion each day to identify variables that influence results of raku and saggar firings and work toward controlling and repeating results. Raku glazes, saggar combustibles, abvara, horse hair and naked raku slip available. Guild facility and checklists emphasized to run a safe and successful firing. Safety concerns include smoke, how fire behaves, possible burns, use of propane, burner, gloves and choreography. Plan to bring bisque ware to the workshop.
