Henry Fraser: Lampo Performance Series

Henry Fraser performs Orexis, a new arrangement of his ongoing solo double bass work made for Lampo, grounded in resonance, tactility and size. Smallest sounds of sympathetic string vibration, fingers on strings and beating patterns, drawing on Black American music, spectralism, Deep Listening, Gaelic psalm singing and harsh noise, combining planned material and improvisation. Fraser is a New York-based double bassist, improviser and composer, collaborator with Ka Baird, Cleek Schrey, John Zorn, Uniform, Mary Halvorson, fourth solo album Pneuma on Kou Records. Held in the ballroom on the third floor, only accessible by stairs. Doors open 30 minutes prior, seats first-come first-served for those registered, reservations expire 5 minutes before start, seating released to waitlist, capacity limited, no late seating.
